Cardoso: Mbule Should Be In Europe Already

Cardoso: Mbule Should Be In Europe Already

Sipho Mbule during the Betway Premiership match between Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 28 December 2024 in Polokwane, South Africa.

Sipho Mbule should be playing his football in Europe already. This is the belief of a teammate who has had an opportunity to watch him closely this season.

Mbule is on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns to Sekhukhune United and it does not take much to see that the attacking midfielder is enjoying his football and rediscovering the form that has made him one of the most entertaining players in the local game.

Daniel Cardoso, the Sekhukhune captain, feels the player should be way ahead in his career. In fact, he feels the former SuperSport United player should be strutting his stuff in Europe.

Since joining Babina Noko, he has scored two goals and has one assist in nine appearances.

"Sipho is a football genius, you know. He's a player with so much talent and I wish he could take that seriously. I think he is a player who should have been in Europe already. He's an unbelievable character and unbelievable player. He's one of the funny guys in the team and he brings the changeroom together. He is exactly the same as Linda Mntambo. They have the same type of character and they bring a lot to the team," Cardoso said to the Siya crew.

"Sipho knows it himself. He knows the talent that he has. He wouldn't have just gone to Sundowns for nothing and a lot of people have told him that. As senior players, we do try to help the younger guys in the team. He is not one of the 17 or 18-year-olds in the team, but he knows that he has the world at his feet. We do try help where we can and guide the youngsters."

Another player who has bounced back after a difficult few years is Keletso Makgalwa, who joined Sekhukhune this season after a spell in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with Upington City. The former Sundowns player has made 18 appearances in all competitions, with four goals and four assists to his name.

"I am glad that Sekhukhune has given him a second chance. He's been phenomenal for us. He has been creating goals and he has been in the mix with the goals. He's finding his feet. He still has a lot to give. He's a great talent."
