Following Orlando Pirates’ storming advancement into the CAF Confederation Cup group stages, the Sea Robbers have again inspired their supporters and all South African football lovers to get behind them as they step closer to continental glory
Pirates have been placed in Group B alongside AC Leopards of Congo, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia and Egyptian side Zamalek.
Meanwhile, Group A comprises of Tunisian outfits Esperance and El Sahel, Stade Malien of Mali and Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
The Soweto giants will draw confidence from their 2013 CAF Champions league campaign where they finished as runners up. Pirates reached the final that season out of a group that consisted of Al Ahly, AC Leopards and Zamalek.
These are opponents Pirates know very well after facing them in the more competitive CAF Champions League. Given that Pirates are in great form too, could well see Bucs go all the way in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Do you think Pirates have a great chance of going all the way?
