Central defender Achraf Dari is poised to leave Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois before the close of the transfer window, and his next destination is understood to be the Cairo International Stadium, with the Red Devils believed to be on the verge of completing a transfer for his services.

It is understood the 25-year-old will put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the record African champions, who are said to be desperate for a central defender as Mohamed Abdelmonem is expected to leave the club for OGC Nice in the coming days.

The Club of the Century were, however, not the only team in contention for Dari's signature, with Mokwena's Wydad also believed to have been keen on bringing him back to the Stade Mohamed V.

The Casablanca native was a Wydad player from his youth academy days, joining when he was nine years old and spending 15 years at the club before leaving for France in 2022.

The record Botola Pro Inwi champions are believed to have been eager to bring him back, and according to the player's father, as per Kooora, Dari was also keen to return to his boyhood club, but the financial package they prepared for Brest paled in comparison to that of Ahly.
