It is always great to see Pirates players representing the national team, but when the national coach lays some harsh criticism on our players, then we have to feel saddened…
Lehlohonolo Majoro was the subject of some ridiculously harsh criticism by Shakes Mashaba on Wednesday evening, when he was taken off in the 42nd minute.
Mashaba spoke about Major’s substitution after the game: “It was not a question of me being happy or not, he (Majoro) never exerted himself, he let the other striker play alone in that area.
“He never competed for high balls and his first touch was not good so we didn’t want to leave him longer.”
These are some exceptionally heavy words that could weigh on Majoro’s shoulders as he enters into the last few games of the season.
The striker is currently competing to be the top goal scorer this season, after having found the back of the net eight times so far this season.
As we know, Majoro is a player who thrives on confidence and these words by Shakes could very well rattle his form for the remainder of the campaign.
Yes, it wasn’t Major’s best game, but I find these words a bit harsh. Ghosts, what do you think about this?
