Striker Lennox Bacela has been getting the nod in the team more often in recent times, as coach Eric Tinkler juggles his striking options going into the run-in period of the season.
Bacela has not been doing too badly as a target man upfront for us, and adds a different dimension to the team compared to fellow strikers Lehlohonolo Majoro and Kermit Erasmus - who are similar in playing style.
With Erasmus and Majoro being the pair that has been getting the goals this season, will the inclusion of Bacela dampen 'Code 4595' and their chances of increasing their goal tallies for the season?
Tinkler may be using Bacela in an attempt to give the player more game time or to try out new tactics. Whatever it may be, one of either Majoro or Erasmus, or both… will have to make way for Bacela.
It’s unlikely that Bacela would replace a goal scoring Code 4595, but there is a possibility of breaking their stride by taking them out of the starting XI.
Also, Bacela has been having an impact on players like Oupa Manyisa and Mpho Makola, as they have been in good goal scoring form for the last two or three fixtures, feeding off the supply of Bacela essentially. This could well prompt Tinkler to re-shuffle the striking pack, at the expense of an in-form Majoro and Erasmus.
Do you think Bacela’s run in the team has been bittersweet?
