What's the story?

While the likes of Audi and Chevrolet sponsoring clubs like Madrid and United respectively, clubs in South Africa likewise have their own automotive deals.

In benefiting from such deals, players and club officials get to cruise around in some of the automaker's latest vehicles as perks that come with the job.

Downs Hyundai

In 2017, the Chloorkop-based side signed a deal with South Korean car brand, Hyundai. As part of the partnership, Sundowns get to utilize a fleet of cars for transportation and various branding on shirts or in the dugouts.

Players such as Peter Shalulile, George Maluleka and Rushine De Reuck have gotten the chance to get behind the wheels of popular rides such as the Hyundai Tucson and Santa Fe.

Chiefs Toyota

In 2017, Toyota replaced Nissan as the Amakhosi transport partner. It can be said that the two names go hand in hand, as with chiefs being one of the biggest clubs in the land, the Japanese automaker continues to be a massive supplier of vehicles to many South Africans today.

Bucs Ford

Also in 2017, Pirates signed a deal that saw Ford become one of the club's sponsors. At the time, Dr Irvin Khoza claimed the popular Ford Mustang for himself, a ride known to be one of the top-selling sportscars in SA.

Ford thus supplied the Buccaneers with vehicles such as the iconic Mustang, Ranger, Everest, Transit and the EcoSport.
