A video has surfaced online showing what led to Thabang Monare's red card against Richards Bay with fans now calling for the decision to be rescinded.
Orlando Pirates dropped points on Saturday following a frustrating 0-0 draw against Richards Bay FC at King Zwelithini Stadium.
With a few minutes left in the tie, Monare was sent off for an altercation with a ball boy which the referee had deemed as violent conduct.

Many fans were uncertain of what had taken place as the replay did not show the midfielder's interaction with the ball boy.

Tricky. Ball boy clearly in the wrong but its like taking the law into your own hands?? maybe should have just let the ref deal with the time wasting by the ball boy if he was ever gonna deal with it.But hopefully Monare can learn from it and come back stronger. ??#OnceAlways
