Traditional-wear embraced by AFCON stars

Traditional ensembles were the order of the day for Africa Cup of Nations favourites; Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria and Ghana as they arrived in Ivory Coast in regal style.

From the Black Stars looking elegant in their Kente cloths to the Super Eagles donning Kaftans, Africa's biggest nations have made quite the AFCON fashion statement.

The most vibrant outfits came from Ghana's Black Stars, led by ballers Andre Ayew, Mohamed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus, wearing white traditional African shirts with a colourful traditional print on the shirt pocket and matching shorts, draped in Kente cloths in yellow, green and red.

The Naija ballers touched down wearing silky Kaftans in white, accessorised with green Taqiyah caps, traditionally worn by men of the Islamic religion.

The Indomitable Lions, the Lions of Teranga and Guinea National Team all showed up in their distinctly designed Kaftans, the Cameroonians rocking a predominately black ensemble with hues of their national colours.

Led by head coach Aliou Cissé and skipper Kalidou Koulibaly, the Senegalese came in all-white as they hope to defend their 2022 AFCON crown.
