Following eight years of a silverware drought, Dutch legend, Ruud Krol, broke all the chains that had stopped us from winning any piece of silverware.
It was on the 2nd of October 2010 against Moroka Swallows, when we won the MTN8 at the Moses Mabida stadium. The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and then went to extra-time where there was still no winner after 120 minutes of play.
The match had to be decided on the lottery of penalty shoot-out and it was then that the ghosts celebrated with unspeakable joy for the first time after eight years of sorrow. It was an emotional victory against the Dube Birds, and that was the beginning of bigger things for the happy people, as we went on to win a treble at the end of the season.
All credit to Ruud Krol for breaking the spell that was upon us for eight years. We have become cup specialists, and tomorrow we will be adding more silverware to our trophy cabinet.
Fellow Bucs, maybe we'll need the famous orange shirt of Ruud Krol to inspire us once again.
