From Midfield Maestro To MasterChef: Yeye Wows Judges!

From controlling the midfield on the pitch to showcasing his culinary talents in the kitchen, Reneilwe Letsholonyane recently impressed judges on a celebrity cooking show.

The story

Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend, Reneilwe "Yeye" Letsholonyane is one of the 12 contestants on the new season of "Celebrity MasterChef SA."

Yeye was able to handle the heat of the ever-competitive MasterChef kitchen, wowing judges Justine Drake, Zola Nene and Chef Katlego Mlambo in his first challenge.

"Winning the first dish means a lot," noted Yeye, who reacted with "Haibo!" when announced as the winner of the first round of cooking challenges, where he outlasted two other celeb cooks.

The retired midfield general also revealed the type of music he listens to while cooking at home. Watch below:

As mentioned by IOL.co.za, the winner of Celebrity MasterChef will share their R1 million cash prize with a charity of their choice.

In the first four episodes, the 12 contestants will be split into groups of three. The winner from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with two finalists facing off for the championship round.

In addition to elimination cook-offs, each episode will feature an appetizer challenge, where the top dish earns a surprise prize for the charity supported by the celebrity.

Yeye joins singer-songwriter Holly Rey, Afrikaans actor Armand Aucamp, Expresso presenter Graeme Richards, social media sensation Sinoyolo Sifo, and legendary television personality Prim Reddy as their contestants.

Also competing are Miss SA runner-up and Miss Supranational South Africa 2023 Ayanda Thabethe, fashion figure Seth Shezi, actor Bohang Moeko, rock musician and poet Danie du Toit, another fashionista Mzukisi Mbane, and radio and television star Dineo Ranaka.
