PSL Big Three Africa's Five Richest Owners?

PSL Big Three Africa's Five Richest Owners?

There is no doubting the financial power Mamelodi Sundowns owner Patrice Motsepe has, but in a story written by a site called Ventures, Kaizer Motaung and Dr Irvin Khoza are named as the top five African millionaire owners. Can you guess their net worth?

Patrice Motsepe (Mamelodi Sundowns)– Net Worth: R19.38 billion
Motsepe, who acquired the club in 2003, made most of his money through his company, African Rainbow Minerals and it is said that his value is worth R19.38 billion.

Since taking ownership of the Chloorkop outfit, the 54-year-old has seen the Brazilians go on to lift five PSL titles, as well as two Nedbank Cups, one Telkom Knockout, one MTN8, and three Telkom Knockout Charity Cups.

Kaizer Motaung Senior (Kaizer Chiefs) – Net Worth: R70 million
A groundbreaker when it comes to defining the Premier Soccer League in what it is today, Kaizer created one of the most popular clubs in Africa. Since their birth in 1970, the Glamour Boys have tasted endless success and they are not only a club but a lifestyle too, as they sell everything from irons to funeral cover. According to Ventures, Motaung's value back in 2013 was said to be worth R70 million.

Dr Irvin Khoza (Orlando Pirates) – Net Worth: R120 million
After being appointed as secretary to the club in 1980, Khoza worked his way up the ranks and swiftly became the owner of the club in 1991. The "Iron Duke" has played a massive role in promoting football in the country and it was because of his help in the World Cup bid that South Africa hosted the 2010 World Cup, along with the late Nelson Mandela. Khoza's value is said to be at around R120 million.

The remaining two richest owners that come from Africa is TP Mazembe's Moise Chapwe (net worth of: R800 million), and Hull City's chairman Assem Allam (net worth: R17 billion).

This is a massive some of money all round. What would you do if you were a football club owner with that money?
