What's the story?
Amapiano is a South African music genre that is described as a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music. Over the course of the last two years, Amapiano has received worldwide attention, with many stars in the football fraternity showcasing their love for the sweet sounds.
In South Africa, there are a couple of players such as Thembinkosi Lorch and Samir Nurkovic who had Amapiano tracks made in their honour, with the songs becoming highly popular amongst fans in the process.
Amapiano To The World
Back in 2020, Arsenal star Nicolas Pepe was seen listening to the 10Toms hit by SJE Konka, with the Amapiano track being one of the most popular on social media at the time.
In December last year, Manchester United star Jesse Lingard took to his Instagram account where he showcased his new sound system, while listening to Killer Kau and JazziQ's 'Amaneighbour' hit.
Frenchman's Mzansi Playlist
Now, Lingard's teammate and good friend Pogba was one of the latest ballers in Europe to showcase their love for the genre. Sporting his new look as he gets back to full fitness, the Frenchman was seen jamming to the Tik Tok popular song 'Ameno', which was created by Goya Menor and Nektunez'.
