In 2006, fuel giant Sasol came up with a creative football commercial in which the story of Soweto football in the late 1960s was captured as a group of youngsters get ready to play the beautiful game.
In the advert, the boys are given names of legends such as Mzansi's great Kaizer Motaung Sr, Jomo Sono, Patrick "Ace" Ntsoelengoe, Zacharia "Computer" Lamola, Teenage Dladla, Doctor Khumalo and Gary Bailey.
The captains, Sono and Motaung, have the honour of dividing the players into two sides, with each kid pulling off a trick/move or two before filing in behind his skipper.
Mlungisi Mbonambi, a former Kaizer Chiefs reserve team player who played the role of Motaung in the ad, is seen selecting "Computer", who is played by Nyiko Tshabangu – the former Bidvest Wits and current Free State Stars player.
Without a doubt, one of the best moments of the commercial is when everyone went silent as the little blonde boy walked up to the teams.
