Last season was Manchester United's worst season in the English Premier League, but on the financial side of the things, the Red Devils made a big jump, as they are not far behind Real Madrid as the world's richest football club.
United jumped from fourth to second in the rankings, as last year they brought revenues in worth £433.2 million.
The club's growth was aided by their commercial strategy, regional sponsorship categories all around the footballing world, and also by the Premier League's broadcasting deals.
Austin Houlihan, a senior manager at Deloitte, gave his thoughts on the matter:
"Thanks to the latest Premier League media deals, broadcast revenue also increased 34% to £135.8m. Their absence this season from European competition will be felt in next year's Money League position, but if they can return to the Champions League in 2015-16 there is a strong possibility they could be top in two years' time."
