With Jose Mourinho back in the news this week, true to his character, I thought it would be great to compile a small list of some of his best quotes, during his managerial career at Chelsea, Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
The Portuguese coach has been described as "the most Machiavellian figure in World Football" and has said some pretty controversial stuff in his long, illustrious career. So without further ado, here are his four best quotes ever.
Mourinho on his relationship with Chelsea owner Abramovich: "If Roman Abramovich helped me out in training, we would be bottom of the league and if I had to work in his world of big business, we would be bankrupt!"
Mourinho on Arsene Wenger: "I think he is one of these people who is a voyeur. He likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea."
Mourinho at his unveiling as Chelsea manager in 2004: "Please don't call me arrogant, but I'm European champion and I think I'm a special one."
Mourinho on pressure as Real Madrid manager: "I am prepared. The more pressure there is, the stronger I am. In Portugal, we say the bigger the ship, the stronger the storm. Fortunately for me, I have always been in big ships. FC Porto was a very big ship in Portugal, Chelsea was also a big ship in England and Inter was a great ship in Italy. Now I'm at Real Madrid, which is considered the biggest ship on the planet."
The special one is still a relatively young manager at the age of 51, and I can't wait to see what else he comes up with in his infamous press conferences for many years to come. One thing is for certain though, he will keep us entertained…
