Miami got off to a good start as Robert Taylor opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with his first goal of the campaign.

Messi then got his name on the score-sheet in the 57th minute with his second goal of the campaign on his return to action.

Philadelphia did pull a goal back in the 80th minute courtesy of Daniel Gazdag's, but the Miami outfit had done enough to secure maximum points.

As a result, Javier Mascherano's charges leapfrogged Carnell's team into top spot on the Eastern Conference Standings.
