The story
The ex-Chiefs goalkeeper has been reminiscing over the mid to late 2000s stage of his illustrious football career.
Khune, who is Bafana Bafana's most capped keeper, is still without a club after his contract with Amakhosi expired at the end of last season.
The 37-year-old boasts a healthy trophy cabinet that includes three league titles and four cups and although the peak years of his career came in the 2010s, Khune wants to be transported back to the 2000s.
He posted an old snap of him from the Telkom Knockout Final vs Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld during the 2007/08 season, a game Chiefs won 3-2 on penalties.
The shot-stopper also attached images of the stunning 2007 Nike Mercurial Vapor boots and the last Nike English Premier League ball, which is a remake of the T90 Aerow I, used during the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons.
"Cava the ball and boots drip. #scorpian #TakeMeBackPlease," wrote Khune on IG. Take a look:

Nike are steeping themselves in mid 2000s nostalgia of late, seeing them remake the T90 Aerow ball and re-introduce the Total 90 III shoes.
The sportswear giants have also brought back the Nike Mercurial Vapor 1's, one of Khune's favourite boots from that time period.
