Pirates Take Revenge On CT City With Sharp Online Clapback

Orlando Pirates greet the supporters during their Betway Premiership match against Cape Town City FC at Orlando Stadium on 22 February 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Orlando Pirates' social media team quickly responded to Cape Town City with a sharp clapback following their hard-fought Betway Premiership victory on Saturday afternoon.

The story

Pirates bounced back to winning form in the Betway Premiership as Goodman Mosele scored an 87th-minute winner to secure a 1-0 victory over the Citizens at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

The Buccaneers' 2-1 win over the Citizens made it their 12 of the season and saw them avenge a shock defeat to Ertugrul's men in January, losing 1-0 at the DHL Stadium.

After that win on 8 January, City's quick-whited Twitter/X account revealed in the victory and mocked the Ghosts' "We remain humble" slogan for this season.

Pirates supporters online have been frothing for the club to face City again and after Pirates' win over the weekend, the Soweto giants' ever-improving social media crew shared a cheeky video to clapback.

The video shared by the Bucs compiled CT City's celebratory social media posts following their home win in January, with the background songs sending a thinly veiled message to their opponents.
