The story

After working on two unforgettable Orlando Pirates kits for the 2023/24 season in collaboration with adidas, the football bug has well and truly caught esteemed fashion designer, Thebe Magugu.

The award-winning designer has unveiled two jerseys through his self-titled contemporary luxury brand, naming it the Magugu F.C Training Kit, which features a "Women's League Magugu F.C Shift Dress with an Obi-Belt and a Men's Magugu F.C Pink Jersey."

The THEBE MAGUGU brand posted the jersey on its various and it's modelled by Zakes Bantwini and Nandi Madida, South African music's power couple.

The Magugu F.C Training Kit for women and men will be made available on Friday, 14 February at the brand's flagship store and HQ, the Magugu House in Johannesburg and on their website.

When purchasing the jersey, Magugu revealed that the player name on the back will come automatically customised with the surname of the customer's choosing.

Arriving in a pink base, the jersey comes with black details on the collar and fading stripes. It also features on of the brand's many motifs a centre-piece, with the number "09" on the left corner and the back, as well as a football-inspired Magugu crest on the right corner.

It terms of designing a football kit for his brand, this Valentines Day-inspired jersey is not Magugu's first attempt. 

In December last year, the 31-year-old released a bold, red design as a home strip for "Magugu F.C" and enlisted the services of artists such as amapiano hitmaker Focalistic, contemporary fine artist Nelson Makamo (Betway Prem trophy designer), Gqom extraordinaire DJ Lag, vocalist Bongeziwe Mabandla and rapper, Priddy Ugly.
