Al Ahly Tipped To Fail At Club World Cup

Al Ahly Tipped To Fail At Club World Cup

African champions Al Ahly will not offer anything at the FIFA Club World Cup, according to one of their former stars.

The Egyptian side are one of four African teams competing at the newly revamped Club World Cup, which gets underway in June.

The Red Devils were drawn in Group A alongside Palmeiras, FC Porto and Lionel Messi's Inter Miami.

Al Ahly has picked up a few bronze medals in the previous editions of the tournament, but the club's former striker Alaa Ibrahim does not expect big things for the team in the United States.

"Al-Ahly will not offer anything in the World Cup even after contracting with the new deals, and there are problems in the heart of the defense," he told Kooora.

"I would have preferred Ramadan Sobhi to return to Al-Ahly again, away from contracting with Ashraf Ben Sharqi."

"Why doesn't Ramadan Sobhi return to Al-Ahly? If the phone was raised on him, he would have come immediately.

"If he was the reason for the previous disputes, why did Al-Ahly contract with Imam Ashour?"
