The story
As one of the mainstays in both club and the national team set-up, Aubrey 'Postman' Modiba is rightfully regarded as one of the country's finest football talents.
The versatile and elite technician sat down with veteran journalist, Robert Marawa on 94.7 to discuss his career at Sundowns, his aspirations and also touched on how he's maintained a positive brand off the pitch.
During his interview on Marawa Sports Worldwide, Modiba answered a viewers question, who inquired about how he's managed to stay out of trouble and keeping a 'clean lifestyle.'
"It's probably the way I was raised, I don't know. In my family, there's no one who is out there, doing drugs or alcohol. I also say my son, Khumo, came at the right time," shared Modiba.
"Whether I'm having a bad day or bad game, I would get home and he's happy to see me. I'm not 'Aubrey' at home, I'm daddy so I'm like, 'Okay, what I'm doing right now, I'm not doing it only for myself, I'm doing it for him, my small family and extended family, everyone at home," he added.
When asked by Marawa if being an active father inspired Modiba further, he answered, "Yes, it does. Because, my mom is still my everything. Obviously with the help of my grannies and cousins at home, for me, I said to myself that I don't want my kids growing up without me being there as a present father, that's what pushes me."
