'It Is Not Easy To Go From Sundowns To AmaZulu'

'It Is Not Easy To Go From Sundowns To AmaZulu'

Former AmaZulu winger Bennett Chenene has admitted that he was shocked after the club unveiled Bongani Zungu as a new signing, but gave his opinion on the impact he can have in the squad.

Zungu penned a deal with Usuthu after being a free agent for a few months and will be hoping to make his debut for the KZN outfit when they take on his former club Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership next week, if he is match fit.

The 31-year-old midfielder's move to Wydad Casablanca in Morocco did not materialise, while there's nothing that came from the links to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Chenene feels that it's not easy for a player to adjust to making a switch from a club like Sundowns to AmaZulu, but is confident the former University of Pretoria midfielder will survive and make an impact at Usuthu.

"I saw it on social media and I was shocked. He is a big player and he is used to playing with players at a higher level, but when you look at where he started, like at University of Pretoria, I am sure he would be able to adjust to any level. It's not easy to leave a team like Sundowns and go to AmaZulu, but I think it can work for him. He is a good signing for the club and he has a good chance of playing every week and he might be able to get back to his best," Chenene said to the Siya crew.

"He has experience, so he will help them. I think he will play regularly and he will be able to stay focused. AmaZulu like possession football. They don't play high balls, so I think he will be able to fit into the team. He knows how to hold the ball and pass it, so he will help them."
