The Argentine succeeded Nasreddine Nabi in impressive fashion in his debut campaign last season.
Not only did he win a domestic double in the Tanzanian capital and help the club reach the CAF Champions League knockout stage for the first time in over fifty years, but he also won the 30-match Tanzanian Premier League with a record tally of 80 points.
After signing a new deal this pre-season, it was presumed that the Olavarria native was set to lead Yanga in their ambition to disrupt the traditional continental hegemonies, but it seems that Gamondi is skating on thin ice with the club's hierarchy.
Sources close to the East African giants have informed Soccer Laduma that they will part ways with the 57-year-old should their poor run of form continue.
He and his assistant Moussa N'Daw were rumoured to be leaving their roles with the Jangwani Street outfit as the club began preparations for their Champions League opener against Al Hilal Omdurman, but it has since been revealed to this publication that they will be staying put for the time being.
It was disclosed that Yanga chiefs held a meeting with Gamondi this past weekend to discuss the reason for the recent poor results, but have decided not to fire him right now because they understand the injury woes the club is currently experiencing.
Reports have said that the current frontrunner to replace the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars boss is Algerian tactician Kheireddine Madoui.
The 47-year-old is currently in charge of CS Constantine in Ligue Professionnelle 1, who are top of the Algerian top flight.

While the club are yet to part ways with their record-breaking manager, the concern comes after they suffered back-to-back league defeats to Azam FC and Tabora United, results which have paved the way for Fadlu Davids' Simba SC to occupy first place on the table.
