Saka Stars In Arsenal Comeback Win, Man City Avoid Scare

Manchester City 3-2 Fulham

Manchester City returned to winning ways after edging Fulham in a five-goal thriller after a brace by Mateo Kovacic  at the Etihad Stadium.

Man City made only one change from the draw against Newcastle United, Phil Foden took the place of Kyle Walker, who dropped to the bench and Rico Lewis started at right-back.

Andreas Pereira gave Fulham a surprise lead on 26 minutes after he fired home a rebound in the box but Mateo Kovacic levelled matters for the Citizens just after the half-hour mark with a deflected shot.

Kovacic gave Pep Guardiola's charges the lead two minutes into the second stanza and got his brace in the process and Jeremy Doku opened a two-goal buffer eight minutes before time.

Rodrigo Muniz took the game to the wire after he pulled a goal back for the Cottagers in the last minute but City held on and also to second spot on the table, just a point behind leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal 3-1 Southampton

Arsenal remained within touching distance of the top spot after thrashing Southampton 3-1 courtesy of a brace by Kai Havertz at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners made three changes following their win over Leicester City and Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, as new signing Raheem Sterling made his first league start alongside recalls for Jorginho and Gabriel Jesus.

After a goalless first stanza, Cameron Archer broke the deadlock for Southampton ten minutes from the break with a strike in the box but Havertz restored parity for Mikel Arteta's charges just before the hour-mark with a strike that went in off the post after a through ball by Bukayo Saka.

Saka put the game to bed for Arsenal with the third goal two minutes before time after he capitalized on a mistake at the back.

The Gunners remained in third spot on the log, just a point behind table-toppers Liverpool.

West Ham United 4-1 Ipswich Town

West Ham United picked up only their second win after a comprehensive 4-1 win over Ipswich Town at London Stadium.

Michail Antonio gave West Ham a perfect start with the opener in the first minute but five minutes later Liam Delap equalised for Ipswich.

Mohammed Kudus sent the Hammers ahead just before the interval, Jarrod Bowen gave the hosts a two-goal lead early in the second stanza.

Lucas Paqueta sealed the deal for The Hammers after making it 4-1 with 20 minutes to go.

Leicester City 1-0 Bournemouth

Leicester City got their first victory of the season after a narrow 1-0 win over Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium.

Facundo Buonanotte gave Leicester the lead with 16 minutes on the clock and that was enough to hand the Foxes their first maximum points

Brentford 5-3 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Brentford ended a three-game winless streak after drubbing Wolverhampton Wanders 5-3 at Brentford Community Stadium.

Nathan Collins gave Brentford the lead within the first two minutes but two minutes later Matheus Cunha equalised for Wolves.

Bryan Mbeumo restored the lead for the Bees with 20 minutes on the clock but six minutes later Jorgen Strand Larsen levelled matters for the visitors.

Just before the half-hour mark, Christian Norgaard gave Brentford the lead again and Ethan Pinnock gave them a two-goal cushion on the stroke of half-time.

Fabio Carvalho made it 5-2 as he put the game away from Wolves in the last minute and by the time Rayan Ait-Nouri got another goal for the visitors, it was too little too late.
