Ancelotti Not Happy After Shock Real Madrid Loss

Carlo Ancelotti appeared angry when providing his assessment his Real Madrid's shock 1-0 defeat in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Spanish giants suffered a 1-0 loss away against Lille, the outfit Kylian Mbappe's teenage brother, Ethan, joined after leaving Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year.

Real were without Mbappe from the start due to an injury he sustained last week Tuesday, in a LALIGA clash with Deportivo Alaves.

The 25-year-old did, however, come on as a second-half substitute, but Real still could not pull a goal back after going into the break behind following a converted penalty from Lille's Jonathan David.

Speaking to reporters after the game in France, Ancelotti appeared frustrated as he criticised his team's lacklustre performance.

"The opponent played better, and deserved to win," he said, according to ESPN

"In terms of duels, intensity, consistency. We have to learn what we have to improve, which is quite obvious, it isn't very complicated.

"Today, everything was quite bad. We were bad with the ball. It was hard for us to win the ball back. It was hard for us to transition. We needed to be more aggressive.

"The feeling today is that it was hard for us to create. Our possession of the ball was quite slow, with few ideas. We have forwards who need to play more vertically.

"If it's hard for you to control the ball, and it gets to the forwards slowly, it's a problem."

This result follows Los Blancos' 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in LALIGA this past weekend.
