Raja Chief 'Breaks Silence' On Mosimane Links

With Pitso Mosimane being linked with the Raja Club Athletic job, a club executive has now reportedly set the record straight regarding their mooted interest.

Last week, the Green Eagles officially parted ways with manager Rusmir Cviko following a poor start to the season.

The Moroccan champions are now looking for a successor for the Bosnian, and some high-profile names have been linked with the job.

One of the tacticians reported to be of interest to the Casablanca-based outfit is Mosimane, with the 60-year-old having not worked as a manager since leaving Abha Club at the end of last season.

It was reported earlier in the week that the north African giants have some concerns over hiring the three-time CAF Champions League boss which make him an unlikely candidate, and according to El Botola, a unnamed board director at the Stade Mohamed V has reinforced that sentiment by stating he is indeed not a part of their shortlist of potential appointments.

Another former Premier Soccer League boss who has been linked with the job is Milutin "Micho" Sredojevic. The Serbian is currently in charge of the Libyan national team – reports suggest he is set to leave the role imminently, while others state that he has already left the fold – and while he may have been touted as a possible replacement for Cviko, the aforementioned Raja chief is understood to have ruled him out too.

The same report claims that the three-time African champions are currently negotiating with candidates both in and out of Africa, but are doing so in complete secrecy, with Mosimane and Sredojevic not among those being considered.
