Man Utd To Sack Boss? Ten Hag Breaks Silence

Man Utd To Sack Boss? Ten Hag Breaks Silence

Following Manchester United's humiliating 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, Erik ten Hag has had his say regarding whether or not there is a possibility he will be fired.

On Sunday evening, the Lilywhites came away from Old Trafford with an emphatic victory as goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke gave the north Londoners only their fifth victory away at the Red Devils in Premier League history.

Ange Postecoglou's charges were aided by Bruno Fernandes' sending-off in the 42nd minute, and the Mancunians have now lost half the six games they have played in the EPL this season, seeing them languishing in 12th place.

With this being one of the worst starts to a Premier League campaign in United's history, this has led to many calling for their manager to be fired, but the 54-year-old has insisted he has the backing of the club's INEOS ownership group.

"We all made togetherness in this decision to stay together, as an ownership, a leadership group in the summer," the Dutchman told reporters after the game, as per Goal.

"Also, we made the decision from a clear review what we have to improve and how we want to construct a squad, but we knew it will take some time.

"We are all there on the same page, in the same boat – myself, the players, the leadership. We are together."

Up next for the record English champions in the league is a trip away to Aston Villa, and should they lose that encounter, this will officially be their worst-ever start to a league season in the Premier League era, according Opta Stats. The last time they accumulated only seven points from seven games was under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 1989/90 season, when they finished in 13th place.
