Euro Giants 'Still Keen' On Greenwood

Euro Giants 'Still Keen' On Greenwood

Despite only leaving Manchester United this past off-season, some elite European clubs are reportedly already keen on luring Mason Greenwood away from his new club.

The 22-year-old decided to call time on his career in England in the latest transfer window, completing a transfer worth €26 million (R509 million) from United to Olympique Marseille.

The 2023/24 season was the first time the attacker played football since the beginning of 2022, and he returned with good form as he finished the campaign as the Player of the Season for loan side Getafe.

Those performances in Madrid earned him admirers from all over Europe, but ultimately it was the French giants who successfully acquired Greenwood's signature, and he has seemingly taken to Ligue 1 like a duck to water, scoring five goals and providing one assist in his opening four league matches.

His blistering form at the Stade Velodrome has alerted many of Europe's top sides as a result, and according to HITC, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all monitoring his situation with a view to potentially signing him next season.

The ElClasico rivals are understood to have been keen on the Bradford native prior to his loan stint in Getafe ending, but made the decision to prioritise other positions in the previous window.

United are understood to have a buyback clause inserted into their Greenwood deal with Marseille, but the same report states that the Mancunians have no intention of re-signing their academy graduate.
