Ex-Man Utd Star 'Under Police Investigation'

Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard is reportedly under police investigation following a now-deleted social media post.

The 31-year-old attacking midfielder has recovered from his injury issues and has slowly been regaining his form at his new side, FC Seoul.

The South Korean side acquired the Warrington native's services at the beginning of the year, but after three matches, he suffered a knee injury.

Since recovering, however, the England international has gradually rediscovered his form, with the club even giving him the responsibility of the captaincy.

He has scored four goals in the past nine matches he has played in as he looks to lead his teammates to the championship round of the K League 1.

However, while things may be looking good for Lingard on the pitch, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse off it.

According to YTN, Lingard is now under investigation by police on suspicion of riding an electric scooter without a licence.

The Gangnam police department is believed to have become suspicious after a video of the incident was posted on social media on 16 September.

It has since been deleted, but the incident is still of interest to the authorities because Lingard is currently still banned from driving for 18 months after he was handed the punishment for drunk-driving exactly a year ago, and in the video, he is also not wearing any safety equipment, which is seen as a big issue in South Korea.
