Orlando Pirates could be boosted with a return of a star ahead of their crucial fixture in the CAF Champions League on Friday.

Pirates will be at home at Orlando Stadium this evening for the second leg of their First Preliminary Round CAF Champions League fixture against Disciples FC of Madagascar.

Having played a 0-0 draw in the first leg match in Mauritius last weekend, the fixture is a must-win for the Buccaneers to progress to the next stage.

Having missed the team's opening two matches of the season, against SuperSport United in the MTN8, and Sunday's clash against Disciples, Miguel Timm is nearing a return for coach Jose Riveiro's side, as confirmed by the club.

Bucs have provided an update on what could be expected with regards to the squad.

"New Bucs signings Deano van Rooyen and Gilberto could be nearing their official debuts after sitting out the trip to Mauritius. Also, with a chance of running out for the first time in the colours of the Soweto Giants are midfielders Thuso Moleleki and Selaelo Rasebotja, both unused subs on Sunday," the club stated on its official website.

"A return to action is not too far off for Miguel Timm, who picked up an ankle injury before the MTN8 quarter-final, while the likes of Goodman Mosele and Tapelo Xoki are among those who remain sidelined," confirmed Pirates.
