Siyabonga Mpontshane has been spotted in a different role at Orlando Pirates training, following the club's confirmation a few months ago that he is no longer part of the team as a player.
When Mpontshane's contract expired, the Buccaneers announced the player's departure, but he has since been spotted in a different role in training on Thursday morning.

Ahead of Pirates' CAF Champions League second leg, first round clash against Disciples FC at Orlando Stadium on Friday evening, Mpontshane was seen working with the first team goalkeepers in training.
The former Platinum Stars shot stopper was working alongside goalkeeper coach Tyron Damons, as the goalkeepers were put through different exercises.
It's unclear at this stage if the goalkeeper has retired from the game, but it was evident in training that he is learning from Damons and could actually be preparing for the next step in his career.
The Siya crew reported in April that there were plans being made for Mpontshane at Pirates, as the club was looking to reward him for his loyalty.

The 38-year-old Mpontshane was a player for the Buccaneers from 2015 to 2024 and the club could use his experience to help goalkeepers in the first team.
