Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have had a busy week as they prepare to challenge for the Premier League trophy once again this season.
The Gunners confirmed the acquisition of Italy international Riccardo Calafiori, who has joined the club after impressing at Bologna and for his country at the 2024 UEFA European Championship. The 22-year-old completed the switch after Arsenal agreed to pay €45 million (R891 million) for his signature.
The London outfit, on Friday afternoon, announced the sale of attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe, who has penned a deal with Fulham. The talented 23-year-old has seen his career stagnate over the past year and a half, and will be hoping his €31.8 million (R630 million) transfer gets him back to his best.
Staying in England, former Watford winger Ismaila Sarr returns to the EPL after joining Crystal Palace from French giants Olympique Marseille, while striker Ben Brereton Diaz has swapped Villarreal for Southampton, and defender Dean Huijsen has left Juventus for Bournemouth.
Chelsea continued their spending spree, meanwhile, signing goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal. The Denmark international has completed a €24.5m million (R485.4 million) move to the Blues as he prepares to challenge for the team's No. 1 position.
