Mahlangu has been keeping himself fit at Stars of Africa, the academy which gave him an opportunity to move abroad when he was a teenager. Together with renowned development coach Farouk Khan, Mahlangu has been inspiring the young boys at the academy and he feels that he can play a big role in opening doors for more South Africans.
With his connections in Europe, Mahlangu plans on being a link for youngsters to go abroad and live their dreams.
"After football, I have a home. This (Stars of Africa) is my home. Even if I come coach these boys or help them get scouted in Europe. I have connections. I know people and if these boys are doing well, I can speak to Farouk (Khan) and say 'coach, maybe this boy can go abroad'. So, I will be that link," the Secunda-born player told the Siya crew.
"But I just want to remain in football. I need to give back with all the knowledge that I have. I am not a coach and I have not applied to be a coach. I am not an agent, but I can help with the little knowledge that I have for these boys to go to Europe."

The Siya crew understands that a club in Istanbul has shown interest in the former Bafana Bafana star.
"There is hope for me to get something abroad. I have not retired yet. I am hoping to get a two-year contract."
