Kaizer Chiefs, a club with a storied history but nearly a decade without silverware, has embarked on a new chapter by appointing Tunisian-born coach Nasreddine Nabi. The move has sparked optimism among fans and former players alike, including former Amakhosi midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha.
The legend believes that Nabi's leadership could herald a return to the club's glorious past. In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, the Zimbabwean-born legend expressed his enthusiasm about the positive changes he anticipates under Nabi's guidance.

"If you look at the postings of what's going on in Turkey then you can see that the players are looking forward to the new season. They look happy and energetic. That's what you need in pre-season training for you to have a positive season ahead."
Nengomasha highlighted the importance of the fresh perspective that Nabi brings to the team.
"It's clear the coach will bring in a renewed energy among the players and to the team as a whole. It will be like a fresh start and that's what the players needed after a not so good season," the Zimbabwe based former midfielder believes.
The former midfielder also touched on the critical role of the club's management in supporting the new coach's vision.

"If the coach wants to strengthen the team in other departments where he feels they need new signings then management should support him by giving him those players. Yes, at times you can not get all the big players you want but if they can try as much as they can to get those in then it's minus one problem. I believe this season is the turning point back to the glory days for Chiefs. The coach is positive and everyone is looking happy and positive as well," Nengomasha observed.
As Chiefs wrap up their pre-season in Turkey and prepare to return home on July 24th, the focus is on integrating any new strategies and players before their upcoming match. The team is scheduled to face Tanzanian side Yanga SC in the inaugural Toyota Cup on July 28th, a match that will provide a further glimpse into the potential impact of Nabi's coaching.
