On Sunday night, La Furia Roja made history as they became the nation with the most EURO title after they won their fourth continental crown at the expense of the Three Lions.

At the heart of the win, as was arguably the case throughout the competition for them, was teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.

The Barcelona teenager turned 17 years old the day before the match and celebrated it by not only by capturing his first major title with his nation, but by shattering multiple records.

As far as the EUROs are concerned, the skilful winger made history in the final by breaking Renato Sanches' record for the youngest-ever player to play in the closing match of the competition.

The Portuguese midfielder was 18 years and 328 days old when he turned out against France in 2016, while Lamine Yamal was 17 years and one day old against England on Sunday.

Not only is he the youngest player to take to the pitch in a European Championship final, but he also broke Pele's record for being the youngest player ever to play in either a World Cup or EURO, according to Opta Stats, as the iconic Brazilian was 17 years and 249 days when he set the record.

The La Masia alumni had made a goal contribution in each of the previous three knockout matches for his team at the EUROs, and that did not change in the final as he assisted fellow young star Nico Williams to open the scoring.

That was his fourth assist of the competition, matching the record for the most assists in a EURO tournament by any player as he completed his time in Germany in style.

While he did not win the Player of the Tournament award, Lamine Yamal was graced with the best Young Player of the competition prize.
