Following his exit from Mamelodi Sundowns last week, the 37-year-old has been linked with a number of top teams on the continent, including Wydad Athletic Club.

The frontrunner for the Wydad presidency, Hicham Ait Menna, is said to have made Mokwena a top priority as they look to return to their best.

While the ex-Orlando Pirates head coach could be on his way to the Stade Mohammed V Stadium if rumours are to be believed, the Red Castle are believed to be close to bidding farewell to an important star.

According to Kooora, Wydad captain and Moroccan international Yahya Jabrane is very close to making the move to the Kuwait Premier League.

Menna is believed to have tried to convince the defensive midfielder to stay with the Botola Pro Inwi giants as they are set to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup towards the end of the new season, but after five years at the club, it seems the Settat native is destined to leave the club.
