Shocking scenes in SA club football

Royal AM Ladies and Lindelani Ladies ended their encounter in untasteful fashion at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban on Sunday afternoon.

Thwihli Thwahla grabbed all three points against fellow strugglers Lindelani, in a 2-1 result, which was marred by a brawl in the 90th minute.

In a clip that's been widely shared on social media, a Royal AM player is seen throwing a punch at her opponent, before being mobbed by a group of Lindelani players, which forced the referee to give out five red cards.

The South African Football Association has revealed that they will take action against both teams, releasing a statement to condemn the actions of both sets of players:

"What was meant to be an entertaining KZN derby in women's football, turned out to put the integrity of the women's game in disarray," read SAFA's statement.

In the DStv Premiership, tempers flared between SuperSport United striker Terrence Dzvukamanja and Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

Matsatsantsa came off second best against the Chilli Boys on Saturday evening, going down 2-0 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, curtesy of goals from Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Bienvenu Eva Nga.

Early in the encounter, Dzvukamanja bravely confronted the Super Eagles shot-stopper, seemingly reacting to Nwabali being on top of him and grabbing his shirt.

Despite Nwabali dwarfing the ex-Buccaneer, Dzvukamanja was eager to escalate the matter, with his teammates quickly jumping to his defence.

Both players received yellow cards for the fracas:
