Ex-Downs Defender: Right Now I Am Working With Shoprite...

Through his foundation, Siyanda Zwane is working with Shoprite to provide food parcels to the less fortunate.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender has plans to stay involved in football as a conditioning coach, as he is currently in the third year of his course.

A member of Sundowns' 2016 CAF Champions League winning squad, retired Siyanda Zwane is passionate about fitness and would love to be part of the game to instil the discipline of players being in good shape to prolong their careers.

As a right back during his playing days, Zwane was one of the fittest players, constantly running up and down the flank to contribute both in defence and attack.

"I am studying. I want to be a conditioning coach because, for me, fitness is everything. I've never really seen myself as a coach, per se. Even when I was playing, I was that player who believed in hard work. I was not talented, but I was a hard worker. I believe so much in fitness and I believe so much in mental toughness, so I believe that I can contribute a lot in terms of that," Zwane said to the Siya crew.

"In my whole career, there is nothing that you can put out about me and say 'bad publicity'. I was very disciplined. I was that player who knew what he wanted. I am trying to learn more in that space. I am doing my third now at Trifocus. I am also going to go for my coaching license. I don't want to be lost to the game.

The former Golden Arrows and Ajax Cape Town man also has a foundation and has revealed that he is currently working with Shoprite to provide food parcels for less fortunate families in KZN.

"I also have my foundation. I come from nothing and I know what it means to have nothing. I like to contribute to those who are in need. Right now I am working with Shoprite. I nominate 10 families and then there is a guy called Sphiwe. I send him the details of the families and then they contact the families. I am not doing it for the camera. They send food parcels every month, especially those who are surviving on pension."
