With Kaizer Chiefs understood to have placed Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi on the club's coaching shortlist, new information has surfaced regarding the future of the mentor.
Mngqithi is believed to be one of the five candidates whose names have been bandied about by the Amakhosi hierarchy, but sources close to Downs have revealed to the Siya crew, that the Chloorkop-based club are understood to be pulling out all the stops to avoid losing the 52-year-old.

News reaching the Siya crew is that Sundowns are believed to be preparing a new and improved deal for Mngqithi, one the coach cannot refuse.
Sources have indicated that the new deal looks set to be a three-year contract set to run until June 2027.
And as previously reported by the Siya crew, parties involved have been engaged in talks as confirmed by his agent Mike Makaab.
"Yes, the talks have been going on. It's true the club wants to keep him," a sourced revealed to the Siya crew.
"They value his contribution too much, so the new offer is so good that he wouldn't even refuse it. No one would turn such an offer down. Yes, everyone wants to be a head coach but sometimes you look at where your future is more secure and stay there and it looks that will be the case with coach Manqoba (Mngqithi).
"The offer is good and he has a bright future with with the club. That's the main point right now. For now, they are talking about a three-year contract which is expected to run until June 2027," the source added.

Indications are the Sundowns are aware of interest from other clubs including Chiefs, hence the tempting offer on the table for the mentor.
"The club is well aware that there are teams who would want to have him next season. It could not be one or two but even more. Not just Chiefs that people are talking about, but others as well and that also prompted Sundowns to give him a good deal that could make him stay at the club. So the way things are looking, he is not going anywhere soon," a second source informed the Siya crew.
Mngqithi joined Sundowns in 2014 as the assistant coach to Pitso Mosimane, and has worked as a co-coach alongside Rulani Mokwena. In his coaching career he has coached Golden Arrows where he won the MTN8 trophy, Chippa United and AmaZulu.
The Siya crew reached out to Sundowns, who in turn, opted not to comment.
