Greenwood 'Very Upset' After Bellingham Incident

Manchester United-owned Mason Greenwood was reportedly very upset with the slur Jude Bellingham called him when the two recently faced off.

The young duo are currently lighting up LALIGA with their respective clubs as they continue to fly the English flag high in Spain's top division.

On loan at Getafe, Greenwood has seven goals and five assists to his name in Spain this season, while his midfield counterpart has impressed massively since joining Real Madrid, scoring 20 goals and providing eight assists.

Their respective clubs met recently in the league, and while neither player got on the scoresheet, they became the talking point of the encounter.

During the match, after making a tackle Greenwood, Bellingham is alleged to have called the forward a "rapist".

This is in light of Greenwood having been charged of attempted rape, assault and controlling behaviour in 2022, but that case has since been dropped, with the 22-year-old now getting his career on track on the outskirts of Madrid.

It is believed that, with the Spanish authorities having opened an investigation into the matter, Real's talisman could be facing a lengthy match ban for his slur, but according to The Sun, while Greenwood was hurt by the comment, he does not want the matter to be taken any further.

"Mason has told them he doesn't want Jude to be punished and has asked them to drop it," a source told the English publication.

"He doesn't want bad publicity and wants to get on with playing football.

"He was very upset at the time as he didn't expect it from someone like Jude.
