What's the story?

The Super Eagles maintain their dominance over Bafana Bafana after pipping them in the  2023 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals, on penalties after the match ended 1-1 after extra time.

In a wholesome video circulating heavily on social media, a class of school children were seen giving their Nigerian teacher a warm welcome back to school after Wednesday evening's clash.

Nigeria's Super Eagles left Bafana Bafana and football fans in Mzansi shattered after their AFCON semi-final triumph, seeing them progress to their first final since winning the 2013 AFCON hosted in South Africa.

The banter, tension and general discussion around the Nigeria vs South Africa clash has been rife online, and this viral video will warm the hearts of many people from both nations.

The video shows a Nigerian school teacher wearing a replica of the Super Eagles' 2013 adidas AFCON jersey, being given a guard of honour by his class who gave him a rapturous applause.

This clip is refreshing after seeing some hateful comments from both sets of South African and Nigerian supporters before, during and after yesterday's final.

The teacher in the clip will hope for his Super Eagles to clinch their fourth Africa Cup of Nations crown when they face tournament hosts Ivory Coast on Sunday in Abidjan.
