Barcelona's president has controversially named 13 clubs he claims are interested in joining the European Super League.

Following the initial formation of the breakaway competition early in 2021, widespread backlash from the public as well as opposition from UEFA and FIFA, the organisers of the proposed competition suspended operations.
This also led to all six Premier League teams who were at first part of the group ultimately deciding to withdraw their participation, while three more clubs in Europe announced they would no longer be involved.
Late last year, in what was a significant development, the European Court of Justice ruled that opposing a ban would be contrary to European Union law, with clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid still looking to get the league up and running.
While it is believed the six clubs from England are still disinterested, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has now named 13 more teams in Europe that he insists are open to the idea.
"Inter, AC Milan, Napoli, AS Roma, any team in La Liga except Atletico de Madrid, which has another position, Marseille, the three Portuguese sides Benfica, Sporting and Porto, the three Dutch teams Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV, and two Belgians, Anderlecht and Bruges," he told RAC1.
Amid fears the initial proposal for the Super League was anti-competitive, the organisers of the competition said in December last year that the new plan was for the tournament to feature promotion and relegation.

There remains uncertainty over when the Super League would get underway, or whether it will get underway at all.
