Kolisi & Nyakane Send Bafana Encouraging Message

What's the story?

French-based Springboks Siya Kolisi and Trevor Nyakane posted a clip today of them singing and sending a motivational message to Bafana Bafana.

Bafana are currently in the Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations and they take on Namibia in their second Group E match, hoping to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Let's take a closer look...

Kolisi Nyakane wish Bafana all the best

Two South African athletes who know a hell of a lot about winning shared some words of encouragement for Bafana Bafana.

Hugo Broos' troops fell to Mali, 2-0, on Tuesday evening for their Group E opener and have it all to do this Sunday when they take on a valiant Namibian side led by Peter Shalulile.

Nyakane and Kolisi have encountered many pressure situations in colours of the Springboks, winning the Rugby World Cup back-to-back despite not being able to top the group in both 2019 and 2023 editions of Rugby's biggest showpiece.

Both athletes believe Bafana can progress from the group stages and bounce back from the Mali result.

"Bafana Bafana, we just want to remind you, who has worn that jersey before you. Those were the glory years of our country and our team. I still believe we can turn it around and I want to wish you all the best for the AFCON, the whole country is behind you. We support you, we love you and you're a team that's carried the nation in so many ways. Please, siyanicela, give everything that you can and things will turn around," says Kolisi, who panned his camera to his Racing 92 and Springbok teammate:

"Yeah boys, obviously Siya said it all. We just want to wish you good luck and we know it's not easy but we believe in you guys and we believe that you can turn this whole thing around and do us proud. So, go out there, enjoy yourselves and play as hard as you can," says Nyakane.
