There has been a faction of fans who have accused Orlando Pirates star Phillip Ndlondlo of doing too much since his move to the Buccaneers and now the midfielder has commented on his contribution on the field.

Ndlondlo's move to Pirates in September last year came as somewhat of a surprise, considering that there were a number of clubs keen on his services.

The midfielder has proven useful to Pirates coach Jose Riveiro whenever called upon, though some factions of the club's fans feel that the 28-year-old is too elaborate on the ball and often concedes possession in an attempt to pull off an extra move.

In a recent interview with the Siya crew, Ndlondlo has responded to his detractors, stating that his style of play was the reason the Buccaneers signed him in the first place.

"Pressure is always there in everything that you do," Ndlondlo told the Siya crew.

"It's about how you deal with that pressure as a human being and as a player. But with the support that you get from your teammates, from the technical team, from everyone around you, it helps you deal with the pressure that you get from outside the field of play and stuff like that so that you can do what you know best.

"It wasn't by fluke whereby I got scouted by Orlando Pirates and brought into the team because of the good work that I've been doing and nothing is going to change overnight because of some people that think whatever that they think.

"Some people do believe in what I do, and I also believe in what I do. So, the support that I get from them, I appreciate it and they help me to become a better person and learn from that so that I can be able to become a better player," he said.

Ndlondlo has featured in 18 matches in all competitions for Pirates this season and has managed to score one goal while chipping in with two assists.
