Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Erwin Saavedra has not played a game for the club since late last season due to injury, and the Siya crew has been informed that he might not turn out for the club again.
Siya sources have indicated how the Bolivian international could have played his last game for the Brazilians, as the club may have informed him of their intention to terminate his contract.

Sources have now added why they won't be registering him for the rest of the season where Sundowns find themselves at the top of the log in South African domestic football.
The Siya crew has been informed that the club has already registered enough foreign players on their quota. The South American's contract is coming to an end in June 2024 so it also might not make sense to register the player for approximately four months at Masandawana.
"I can tell you it's almost a foregone conclusion that Saavedra won't play for Sundowns again. His injury has kept him out of the team for the longest time and looking at his contract also, the club has almost decided that it's time the two parties part ways," said the Siya source.
"You know he came highly recommended and he was one of the most expensive buys for the club and there hasn't been an investment return from his deal. That's why the club won't be renewing his contracts when it expires in June next year. The club feels that since there is the Afcon break in January and February he may only return to action in March and if there is any chance of playing he could maybe play in April or May and then in June his contract expires and that's why they are deciding not to have him," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A second Siya source added that with the foreigners already registered at the moment it will be hard to register Saavedra for this season and with his contract coming to an end in June 2024 his future at the club looks questionable.
"As for now we can say he could have played his last game for the club last season. With the talks going on it is just to see what will happen with his current contract as the club won't be registering him which means he won't be playing. Look at the foreign quota at the club and apart from (Abubeker) Nasir the rest are all doing well.
"He could not replace any one of them and that has led to the decision to possibly part ways and not renew the contract when it expires in June next year," the source observed.
Soccer Laduma contacted Sundowns for comment but no response was received while preparing this story.
