Sikhakhane: Chiefs No Longer Difficult To Watch

Cavin Johnson is being commended for leading Kaizer Chiefs to improved performances and results since taking over from Molefi Ntseki last month.

Johnson led Amakhosi to their fifth win of the season and the team has moved to sixth place on the log.

Chiefs' 1-0 victory over Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville stadium on Sunday was Johnson's second in four matches that he has been in charge of.

Speaking exclusively to the Siya crew, former Chiefs midfielder Ntokozo Sikhakhane said he has had no doubt that Johnson is the right man for the job.

"I once had a meeting with coach Cavin Johnson and we talked about football development. That meeting lasted for two hours and I was excited when Chiefs eventually appointed him. I was the first one to say Chiefs made a good signing in coach Johnson. I know his style and I know his philosophy and what he believes in when it comes to young players and development. I have no doubt that Chiefs will play some exciting football under the coach. In fact, the signs are there already, and the team's games are becoming enjoyable unlike in the past when it was difficult to watch because the guys would struggle to combine five passes," said Sikhakhane.

"The way the team is now able to combine passes is amazing and is in the true style of Chiefs. As former players, that's what we want from the team and we are happy with the notable progress. The way the team is playing reminds me of the days of the likes of Thabo Mooki, Jabu Mahlangu and Arthur Zwane and those are the players who used to play with flair. People want flair, and you can't just kick the ball forward just because you want to win. You can't expect a team like Chiefs to just play for results without dishing out nice football," he said.
