What's the story?
The legendary Dr Jomo Sono was recently announced as one of the ambassadors for the Veterans Clubs World Championship (VCVW2024), that takes place in Rwanda next year.
Amanda Dlamini and Lucas Radebe were also at the United Nations-driven event, which served as a pre-curser for the VCVW2024.

Jomo Sono announced as VCVW2024 ambassador
Football legends and veterans from around the world will be in Rwanda for the VCVW2024, which involves two main activities.
In May 2024, over 150 legends will be in Kigali for this celebration. It will involve a tournament, as well as forums with a host of partner events that touch on culture creativity, Greenaction, Finance, and gender equity among other pressing topics.

A conference presentation organised by the United Nations South Africa and Rwanda in Johannesburg hosted SA leg of the Legends Visit Rwanda tour, to promote Promote the Veteran World Cup Championships and to ensure a global audience.
Lucas Radebe, Amanda Dlamini joined Dr Jomo Sono at the presentation:
This edition was graced by the presence of Football Legends @JomoSono10 , @LucasRadebe , @Amanda_Dlamini9and a sideline meeting with @KalushaPBwalya who all expressed their enthusiasm for a project which puts the Veterans at the heart of development.

The event was also a way to mobilise the Rwandan and African diaspora to be part of next year's celebration that will unite sporting veterans compete, connect and contribute to sustainable development, peacebuilding initiatives and the development of African football.
Radebe, Dlamini and Dr Sono will likely be joined by the likes of Jay Jay Okocha and Emmanuel Petit in Kigali for the Veteran Clubs World Champs in 2024.
