Man Utd Owner To-Be 'Makes Decision' On Ten Hag

Man Utd Owner To-Be 'Makes Decision' On Ten Hag

Manchester United's prospective owner has reportedly made a decision as to whether or not to keep Erik ten Hag after the team's poor start to the season.

Manchester United's prospective new owner has reportedly made a decision as to whether or not current club manager Erik ten Hag is part of his plans for the team.

Although the Red Devils were put up for sale almost a year ago, they seem no closer to having new majority owners.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe were the two frontrunners, but after the Qatari businessman pulled out of the race this past weekend, this leaves Britian's richest man as the sole favourite to acquire a stake in the record Premier League champions.

It is understood that Sheikh Jassim pulled out after current owners, the Glazer family, refused to entertain selling 100% of the outfit.

It is for this reason that Ratcliffe has reportedly amended his bid to only acquire 25% of the club at a cost of £1.3 million (R29 billion) as he looks to take over the side's sporting operation.

The Englishman is hopeful that his bid will be accepted, and while a minority sale may not be what most United fans were hoping for, it opens the opportunity for a majority takeover to take place in the future.

According to ESPN, Ratcliffe, 70, is keen to have an influence on the sporting side, and while a bunch of changes may be on the cards in that area, Ten Hag is not expected to be a casualty.

While the Dutchman has seen United endure poor starts to their Premier League and UEFA Champions League campaigns, INEOS, the company Ratcliffe owns, is reportedly eager to keep the former Ajax Amsterdam boss in his role.

The same report claims that the Red Devils are set to hold a board meeting on Thursday, where an agreement with Ratcliffe and INEOS could be completed.
