‘Three Point Flavour’: City Mock Chiefs’ Chips After Win

‘Three Point Flavour’: City Mock Chiefs’ Chips After Win

Cape Town City shared a tongue-in-cheek post after beating Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday evening, using Amakhosi's chips range to execute their joke. Check it out!

What's the story?

After securing three points away to Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday, Cape Town City's social media page took great pleasure in the win by mocking the Glamour Boys' snack range.

The jab was well received on social media, with the City's match winner Khanyisa Mayo also embracing the banter on Instagram.

Kaizer Chiefs' stuttering start to the season continued after succumbing to a 1-0 loss at home to Eric Tinkler's Cape Town City.

Khanyisa Mayo got the winner just before the hour mark, helping the Citizens climb to fifth in the DStv Premiership, while the Glamour Boys dropped to seventh, after losing their fourth league match of the season.

The Citizens social media page didn't waste time in gloating, sharing a picture/meme of "Cape Town Crisps", making of fun of Chiefs' newly-launched snack range, with a cheeky caption that read:

"Crisps that have 3 points."

Take a look:

Khanyisa Mayo is finding his way back into the scoresheet after a slow start to the campaign, with his winner against the Soweto giants being his third in two games.

In a long stream of stories Mayo posted on Instagram after full time, the baller shared an edited version of the "Cape Town Crisps" meme, but a "Khanyisa Mayo" flavour.

A day before the encounter at the FNB Stadium, Amakhosi launched their first ever snack range, a bold venture into the culinary world.

Chiefs are known for their innovative branding efforts and this snack range sees them explore a completely new market for them.

Amakhosi chose three "audacious flavours that mirror the club's indomitable spirit", Tomato, Grilled Steak, and Salt Vinegar.

"Our vision was clear - to deliver a snack range that embodies the boldness and vibrancy of the Kaizer Chiefs brand," says Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung in a press release from the club.

"With these explosive flavours, we invite fans everywhere to get #Khosified and truly Fuel Your Passion," she added.
