Havertz Opens Up On Arsenal Struggles After Tough Start

Havertz Opens Up On Arsenal Struggles After Tough Start

Kai Havertz has lifted the lid on his struggles with Arsenal following his off-season move from Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has not enjoyed the best start to life in north London, with fans and pundits alike having been critical of his performances in a Gunners shirt so far after completing a €75 million (R1.5 billion) move from cross-city rivals Chelsea during the recent transfer window.

While at Stamford Bridge, he played mostly across the Blues' front three, but Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has, however, decided to shift the Aachen native into midfield, a position he has seemingly struggled to adapt to in the opening weeks of the new Premier League campaign.

He drew further criticism last weekend when he missed a gilt-edged chance to put the Londoners ahead against Manchester United, but Havertz has now insisted he has no stress regarding his current situation.

"I've often had a phase and that you often only see the negative," the attacker told members of the media in a pre-match press conference ahead of Germany's friendly against Japan on Saturday, as per the Daily Mirror.

"It's not the first club where I'm starting over. Of course, you want to be successful as quickly as possible, but I know that there are phases like that.

"I try to approach it in a relaxed manner."

Arsenal's next match after the international break is against Everton, and having failed to score for his new side so far, Havertz will be hoping to finally break his duck at Goodison Park.
